Jet Fuel

THL is working on the development of a novel process for the production jet fuel from two platform including alcohol and fatty acids. Jet fuel derived from alcohol (2,3-butanediol) are butenes from biomass as a feedstock by combining two synergistic innovations of biochemical process to 2,3-Butanediol (2,3-BD) and further catalytic conversion of 2,3-BD to butylenes. Another platform includes Jet fuel production by hydrotreating free fatty acids derived biomass sugars. Annual jet fuel market alone in the United States is approximately 94 billion gallons.
